Employee Spotlight

Tammy Peterson joined the Valtus team in October as the new Customer Solutions Manager.

Q- What made you decide to take the jump into the field of Orthophoto?

A- I am a lover of technology and although I had initially focused on the task proponents of the position and how my past experience would fit well within it, the more I come to learn and understand about this industry, the more interesting I find it. I am extremely representative of the average, every day consumer. We use the data and the technology that enables the delivery of said information, without ever really having any idea of what it is and the impact it has. I am not only intrigued by the data and technology itself, but more so of how the information can be applied to support and enhance business decisions that effect us at a communal level.

Q- When you're not in the office or at tradeshows and conferences, how do you spend your time?

A- Well, I have two boys who are deeply involved in their chosen activities. So in support, I not only play taxi, but am involved with the boards for the organizations. Aside from that, I like to read and love to travel. Oh, and hopefully I'll make it out on the golf course far more in 2008.

Q- As the new Customer Solutions Manager, what can you offer to our Valtus clients?

A- I believe that the value my experience will bring to Valtus customers is that of a solid understanding and passion of what service excellence truly means. Consumers become more and more savy and their expectations sometimes outpace what an organization can follow through on. It is my opinion that service does still factor in to a customer's overall experience with an organization and ultimately plays a crucial role in their decision to continue the business relationship or not. Therefore, one of my first projects will be looking at our current processes to ensure that we are able to be expedient in providing the most efficient and effective product experience possible, thereby allowing our customers to maximize the geospatial data value derived, within and across their organizations.
